Feedback Ghost

FEEDBACK GHOST is an interactive audiovisual installation created with Fazakas Lőrinc and Szurdi Balázs for Kőbánya Underground 2026. Built deep inside Budapest’s labyrinthine cellar system, the work turns feedback itself into both material and subject: a camera captures the space, the image is projected back into it, then captured again, creating a continuously evolving loop of repetition, distortion and decay.

The visitor becomes part of that loop. A single movement enters the system as an image, returns as an echo, then multiplies and mutates through successive generations until the body dissolves into trails, noise and ghost-like fragments. These traces can remain active long after the person who created them has left the frame, allowing past and present images to collide inside the same constantly regenerating visual field.

Together with a reactive sonic layer, the installation transforms the room into a machine with a strange form of memory: absorbing presence, corrupting it, and feeding the result back into itself. Nothing is pre-rendered. The image exists because someone is there to disturb the system.
